5 & 6 Application and Data Management (A&D)

The "Application and Data Management" course aims to provide our students with thorough theoretical knowledge of and practical experience with the different elements of the broad IT field. By doing so, they are able to support others in their computer use and adapt existing applications, websites, databases, networks... or develop new ones from scratch.
These different skills require a creative and technical approach that is based on practical experience with programming, web development, database management, system administration, network management, cybersecurity... This knowledge forms the foundation on which further development in the world of IT can be built.

The digital world is constantly changing, with new digital developments being brought to market all the time. Students in the "Application and Data Management" course are expected to actively follow these evolutions. They must dare to ask critical questions about these recent developments and strive for sustainable solutions in their designs.

Furthermore, there will be a heavy emphasis on security. More and more cyberthreats arise each day and it is essential for an IT worker to know how to deal with them on a technical level and how to provide coworkers with the right tools and insights for them to do the same.

After graduating from this course, students are amply prepared to continue their studies in higher education or to apply their newly acquired skills in the job market. However, the main aim is to continue studying in an IT class in higher education.
